Molybdenum disilicide bubbling tubes are primarily used in the glass industry. The bubbling tubes are installed in glass furnace tanks, where clean, compressed air is introduced into the tank through professional and clean compressed air systems. This helps to reduce the temperature difference between the upper and lower parts of the furnace tank. By generating tiny bubbles, small air bubbles and trace impurities in the glass melt are carried away, thereby improving the purity and quality of the glass. After years of improvement and innovation, Zhengzhou Yixin Kiln Co., Ltd.'s molybdenum disilicide products undergo surface physical treatment, which enhances the purity of molybdenum disilicide in glass furnace tanks and reduces secondary pollution.
Molybdenum disilicide (MoSi₂) is an intermediate phase in the Mo-Si binary alloy system with a high silicon content. It possesses dual characteristics of both metals and ceramics, making it an excellent high-temperature material. It exhibits excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance, with an oxidation resistance temperature as high as 1600°C or above, comparable to SiC. It has a moderate density (6.24 g/cm³), a relatively low thermal expansion coefficient (8.1×10⁻⁶ K⁻¹), and good electrical and thermal conductivity. Although molybdenum disilicide demonstrates high oxidation resistance and Young's modulus at temperatures above 1000°C, it is brittle at low temperatures. Additionally, it loses creep resistance at temperatures exceeding 1200°C, which limits its application as a structural material. However, when combined with other materials, it can be used in composites to enhance mobility. Molybdenum disilicide and materials based on it are typically produced through sintering, such as molybdenum disilicide protection tubes. Plasma spraying can be used to produce dense monolithic and composite forms of the material. For rapid cooling, a small amount of β-modified molybdenum disilicide is often included. Leveraging its high-temperature resistance, molybdenum disilicide is made into bubbling tubes and widely used in the glass industry for purifying glass melts.
The 9-hole molybdenum disilicide bubbling tube is currently the type with the most holes on a 16mm diameter. With holes approximately 1mm in diameter, compressed air is injected into the glass melt, effectively removing finer impurities and resulting in higher glass purity.
